Yes, on the surface we are a modular display specialist but delve a little deeper to discover the driving force behind it: a team of bold, like-minded creatives, driven by collaboration, innovation and a will to exceed expectations. Tecna's Timeline

2007

Tecna UK was founded in 2007 after Managing Director, Simeon Wicks, obtained the sole distribution rights to the T3 modular display system within the UK and Ireland. He had first come across T3 when he worked with its inventor, Jonathan Evitt. Jonathan is also the person who designed the Crystal Maze Geodesic dome, and invented the hugely successful IsoFrame system.


Impressed with its innovative design and versatility, and with his vast experience in the exhibition booth industry, he recognised the system as an opportunity to push display stands in an exciting new direction: “T3 showed great potential, and I knew instantly that we had something here that could revolutionise the industry”.


Headquartered in Simeon’s bedroom, the next two years involved hours of tireless work, spreading the word of Tecna UK and T3; sending out product samples to potential clients.  There were also plenty of sleepless nights spent ensuring that Tecna UK kept to its 24-hour turnaround promise – one that we still keep today.

2008

The hard work put in was quickly paying off. The business was growing exponentially and along with it, demand. Struggling to keep up with its popularity, Simeon began his search for a new partner. And in 2008, he hired James Longley, now Tecna UK’s General Manager. The two worked collaboratively to push the business to the next level.


Before long Tecna UK upgraded headquarters, moving from a flat-share bedroom into a new house. Around this time, the T3 comb profile was also developed, allowing fabric to be fitted to the T3 system.  Its introduction hastened even greater opportunities by making the application of tension fabric graphics really quick and easy. Now about 50% of the business is tension fabric graphic displays.

2010

In 2010, Tecna UK relocated to a 1500 sq ft property in Chertsey, Surrey, which came equipped with a spacious warehouse. This newly acquired warehouse space meant two things. 


Firstly, the ability to start amassing and storing an extensive T3 component stock and deliver displays to clients at a much faster pace.


Secondly, we were able to start offering pre-builds, a service whereby we build our partners’ display in our warehouse before it is needed onsite so they can check that the graphics fit perfectly and they are 100% happy with it.

2012

In 2012 we upgraded to a new property in Egham. Our team began to grow, and our services diversified starting with sales support. We saw the invaluable results that came with supporting our clients with their sales efforts and provided, amongst other things, demonstration visits, sales advice presentations, and sales pitches to clients in lieu of our partners. Then came our marketing support, offering up videos, social media, and web services.

2016

2016 marked the year we moved into our current home in Farnborough. This was a real landmark in our company’s history. Not only did this mean upgrading to a 20,000 sq ft space that accommodated two warehouses, but it also sparked the introduction of two new unique offerings: our installation services, whereby our team of expert installers deliver, install and dismantle displays for our partners, and our exclusive training days. These training days are immersive and interactive, and have proven to be a key means through which to help our partners unlock and take advantage of the true potential of T3.

2018

Since moving to Farnborough, the Tecna UK family has expanded, and our growing crew works harmoniously like a well-oiled machine. With everything falling into place and a full turnkey range of products and services available, we were ready for the next step.


We introduced the Partnership Programme: an extensive suite of support services offered exclusively to our partners. This standout programme encompasses everything from logistics management and installation services to marketing and sales support, tailored training opportunities and tools, and Discovery Days.  In addition, we launched rental and storage options providing clients with the ability to either buy and store their stands with us or to hire for an even more cost effective solution.

2020

When the pandemic hit in 2020, Tecna UK re-focused the weight of its design and research capabilities to produce a market-leading range of social distancing solutions, in doing so, TecnaCare was established.


TecnaCare continues to deliver premium solutions to protect customers, employees, and spaces. Ranging from desk dividers and partitions, sanitiser units and rapid antigen tests, to body temperature devices, and anti-microbial coating, there are a range of products designed to give peace of mind and create safer spaces and events.

2022

With events back in full force and a brand-new customer showroom here at Tecna HQ, we are committed to providing turnkey solutions and five star service to all our customers and now covering exhibitions, experiential marketing and events, retail and office display solutions as well as aftercare all with our commitment to Design, Build, Deliver.
